How many and what condition, I don't know but I will continue to look. Further, I know of 6-8 more boats that are in various locations owned by folks who simply haven't had time or the inclination to provide me with the hull numbers of their boat. Of the 92 hull numbers one of them is listed twice so someone is mistaken. To date I have a list of 102 known boats. I also have spent countless hours combing the internet looking for Customs for sale and have talked to restorers and others who are not affiliated with ACBS. I had to pay careful attention to make sure that I caught all of what are in fact true Customs. As a result if you list a 1947 19.5' Custom Deluxe that is what they print…even though there is no such thing. They enter the information just the way they receive it from the member who submitted it. ACBS does not edit boat owner’s descriptions. While this was relatively simple I found that the procedure still required some detective work. I listed all of the 20' Customs I could find there and went back to my earliest directory from 2001. I started in the obvious place: the ACBS directory. ![]() To that end I started a spread sheet containing the most recent owner name of record, boat name, and engine and of course the hull number. I thought it would be fun to find all of the remaining 20 foot customs out there. ![]() I am two years into what I estimate to be a five year restoration. I found her in Minnesota six years ago and brought her back to Texas. She currently resides in her home, a shop that I built just for her to be pampered and have an extreme makeover. I have the privilege and good fortune to be the current custodian of R-20-092, a 1946 20' Custom Runabout.
